People originally gave the composer/music direction shit for not being rearranges of Dragon Quest themes, but the modern soundtrack is fine in its own way.

Pop's side of the episode had fantastic animation.
Crocodine acknowledging Pop's growth, and Hyunkek giving him a bit of a push to move forward.
Vearn/Hadlar dynamic is great, the episode was amazing as usual.

クロコダインとポップが過去の教訓を学んでいなかったのなら戦闘に残っていただろうところとか、キャラクターの成長が確実に見られるのがいいね
I love it when you can definitely see how the characters have developed, like how Crocodine and Pop would have stayed to fight if they never learned their lessons from the past.

このシリーズのキャラクター展開は本当に、本当に良いよね。悪役も含めて、ほとんどの人が初登場時とは全く違う展開、成長、結末を迎えるのが良い
フレイザードみたいに長くは登場しなかったキャラクターであっても、彼が自由奔放で過激な理由が、若さゆえに世界に足跡を残すことに不安を感じているからだという開示があったり、人物像の描写が面白い
The character development in this series is really, really good. I like how nearly everybody, including the villains, develop, grow and end up very differently from their first appearances in the show.
Even characters like Flazzard who didn't stay around for too long had some interesting characterization, like the revelation that he's as unrestrained and extreme as he is because he's insecure about leaving a mark on the world because of how young he is.

クロコダインが、以前同じようなことがあった時にポップを臆病者だと誤解したことがあったために、今回ポップがダイを訳もなく見捨てたとは疑わなかったみたいに、過去の出来事の布石があるのもいい
Yeah, the characters also don't just have a surprise epiphany all the time and in fact most of them had several moments of development before they actually made a big change.
The callbacks to previous times is great too, like how Crocodine doesn't doubt that Pop abandoned Dai out of necessity any more because he mistakenly thought Pop was a coward the last time something like this happened.

この作品ではキャラクターが実際に成長し、成長し続けていることを実感できる。他の多くのバトル少年漫画だと、１つの章でキャラクターを成長させた後、作中の80％でその状態を維持し、最後に再び転機を迎えるやり方が多い
ポップは、逃げる臆病者から、勇気ある友人になり、時には熱血漢になり、味方を助けるためには自分を犠牲にすることも厭わないようになった
そして、最近のアークでは、彼が敵を追いかけることで（昔のポップはしないけど、今のポップなら間違いなくそうする）それが裏目に出て、ポップは残酷にも劣勢になり、自分のミスでダイが殺されそうになった
これは本当に良いキャラクターライティングだと思う
It genuinely feel like the characters actually grow and keep growing in this. A lot of other battle shonen would just have their characters grow in one arc, stay that way for 80% of the series, and maybe have another turning point in a later arc towards the end of the series.
I like that Popp went from a coward who runs away, to a courageous friend, to borderline hotblooded and GAR at times who never backs down and even willing to sacrifice himself to save his allies.
And then this recent arc entirely flipped it on his head by having him chase after the enemies (something that old Popp wouldn't do, but new Popp definitely would), which backfires, Popp gets brutally outclassed and nearly gets Dai killed for his mistake.
It's really good character writing.
