All right, I finally caught up with f*cking Redundancy. F*cking great in more ways than one. I'm 23 and considering to move away to my own home, but this series just made me ponder the loneliness my parents would feel in my moving day. I'm the oldest so I'm technically the first one to leave the nest, but doesn't change the fact it will happen one day. F*ck, the ending just hits way too personal for me. I believe Rifujin found the perfect recipe of this series' ending by utilizing what it has always done best (familial SoL themes) plus setting the foundation of a potential sequel without actually being a forced sequel bait. I'm actually f*cking thrilled and I actually f*cking care to know what has become of Rudeus' descendants in the future, especially how their fates will enable them to kill the Big Bad.

I always found that 'plot-wise' rudeus was the least interesting character, he's the vehicle for family life, but through him we observe a bunch of interesting characters
-The looping dragon god
-The psycho prince who killed his wife and brother and is learning empathy
-The son of the pope who had to leave for his safety and is now trying to fix a whore
-The cursed ancient elf who lost her memory but in the past lived with a pre-split BBEG
etc.

I think it was a fine way to balance the story, that's what made it stand out above many other such works. Not everything revolved around the MC, he wasn't the most special or the best and the brightest, just an exceptional individual in a world already populated by exceptional individuals, that REMAINED exceptional instead of being completely dominated by his plot bullshit powers.
