While this is part of the Dragon Quest franchise, it's adapting a manga. One of Shounen Jump's best manga, so that's why this is so enjoyable

1話と比べると流血表現があったのにびっくり
360°フルアクションシーンの突然のCGは最近あったドラゴンボールの映画を思い出した。
別にそこは気にならないけど、字幕の呪文のローカライズ翻訳は嫌い。Kaswoosh（バギクロス）ってなんだよ！
The blood was surprising compared to last episode
The random CG reminded me of the Dragon Ball movies recently when they have full 360 CG action scenes
It never bothered me before today, even with the games, but holy shit, I hate the localized translations of the spells. Like it actively takes me out of the experience to see "Kaswoosh"

アニメ2話＝漫画5話分。だからアニメ1話＝原作2.5話ペースだな。間違いなく100話は最低でも行くぞ。このペースだと130話くらい。俺の子供時代はまだまだ続く！！！
2 eps = 5 chaps manga. So 2.5 chaps = 1 ep. We will have at very least 100 eps undoubtedly. If they continue this pacing, 130 eps will be a fitting number. My childhood is still going on!!!

アニメ化企画についての情報は全然知らないんだけど、このアニメのテンポすごく良いね。これだけの量があっても間に合わせているし、視聴の間甘いノスタルジーを感じさせてくれる
脚本はもう少し改善が必要だと思うけど、それでも本当に気に入ってる
I don't know anything about the adaptation, but i really like the pacing of this anime. It's completely ready for having such a high number of episodes, and it gives me a sweet nostalgia while watching it.
oof, it only needs to improve a bit storywise, but i'm really liking it.

Good episode, felt this episode a little bit rushed, but was ok overall. Good CG fight, good animation for showing us the Dai's symbol on his forehead and some magic spells, looking forward to see next episode.

（テレビで旧作を見た記憶がほとんど残ってないから）この作品のどういうところに期待していいのか分かってないんだけど、ドラクエだからキャラの魅力だけで十分視聴を続けられる（今のとろこ面白いし）
戦闘の途中でCGに切り替わるのは予想してなかったけど、ドラゴンボール超とかの他の東映アニメと比べても良く出来てると感じた。
レオナ可愛かった。あと1話で身勝手の極意に目覚めたダイを見て悟空は恥じるべき
I definitively don´t know what to expect from this (mainly because I barely remember seeing the old one in television) but it´s dragon quest, so the characters charm alone is good for me to keep watching (and so far it's entertaining).
I didn´t expect that switch to CG mid-fight, but it felt well done, specially compared to the likes of Dragon Ball Super and other Toei anime.
Btw Leona is adorable and Dai awakening the Ultra instinct in one episode puts Goku to shame.

Episode was really good! I loved the changes they added and the 3D/CG fight was surprisingly good though a bit jarring.

CG戦闘はちょっとだけ粗かったけど、演出や振り付けは良かった
レオナがすぐに回復してテムジンと対峙するシーンだとか、儀式のシーンの追加だとか、このエピソードでは全体的に多くの変更点があったね。原作だと1コマだけだったりしたから、この追加要素によってシリーズの序盤から活躍レオナのキャラ展開がより進んだのは本当に良いと思う

あとセリフの中の単語選びでマイナーな変更があったのにも気づいた。ドラクエの本筋には関係ないけど、レオナはダイを指して言ったセリフが「不格好」じゃなくて「頼りない」、日本語だと「ちびくん」から「坊や」に変わってた。なんで変更されたのかはよく分からない。レオナの性格をより良く描きたかったとか、若い視聴者への悪影響を避けたかったとかなのかな。

そういうのはともかく、現状このアニメにはすごく満足してる。次回が本当に楽しみだ
The CG fight looked a little rough but I liked the direction and choreography that they attempted with it.
There were a number of changes throughout the episode as well such as Leona recovering quickly to confront Temjin and the addition of the ritual scene. I actually really liked that they added those because they were a single panel in the original manga and having those gives Leona just a little bit more development that she could use for this early part of the series.
I also noticed some minor dialogue changes with certain words. Nothing related to Dragon Quest lore though. Leona calls Dai "undependable" instead of "uncool" and her word for little boy in Japanese was changed from chibi-kun to "bouya." Not sure exactly why it was changed though. It could be that they wanted to better portray her overall personality as they know how she turns out now or it could be that they wanted to avoid those words because they might have a bad influence on younger viewers.
I'm super satisfied with this so far though so I'm really looking forward to next episode.

I genuinely enjoyed everything about this episode, I didn’t even mind the CG. Honestly I’ve seen worse and if that is the level of CG we are getting i’m happy.
The animation again, really good. I like the little changes that they did to the story. Over all I’m just impressed about how well this show is starting.

Not gonna lie, this show is great. It feels like I am a kid again watching Saturday morning cartoons. There is something comfy about this show.
